Editors & Bloggers Wanted

The Liberty News Network is growing and we’re looking to expand our news crew as well. The network, headquartered at LibertyNews.com, is now interacting with more than 5,000 individual readers a day. We expect this number to double in May and continue to grow through the rest of the year (and beyond!). Due to our quick growth, and the fact that we’re a fairly new hub for news and liberty movement related information, we’re looking for help in several areas of our infrastructure.

If you have interest in one of following positions you’ll need to follow the instructions at the bottom of each position description. 

LIBERTYCUBE.COM NEWS HUB EDITOR

Are you a news junkie who is constantly tracking all the big stories hitting the web? Do you crave the idea of being one of the first to share news when it goes public? Good news… we’re addicted to news and we share your cravings!

LibertyCube.com is a new project developed to help share the stories we’re working on at LibertyNews.com as well as any other timely, important news stories being published by our news partners (partner alliance coming soon). Yes, we’ll also link out to any third party news provider should they publish news we believe is fitting for our audience.

We’re seeking three news editors who can submit/publish news items to LibertyCube.com and help keep our homepage “fresh.” We have an initial three month trial period that runs from May-July through which we will build out all of the coming features of LibertyCube.com. During this three month trial period our editors will work on a volunteer basis only. At the end of the trial period we may consider part time/contract compensation for time spent working on the site.

Ideally, candidates for our editor positions will have the following:

  • Proven ability to write relevant and catchy headlines
  • Basic understanding of WordPress content management software
  • Openly available social media profiles with at least 12 months of personal history available (sorry, we need allies, not enemies)
  • Access to and understanding of RSS programs like Google Reader or the Reeder app for Mac
  • Ability to pledge to add at least 5-10 new news items per day (approximately half an hour of time once a full understanding of how the system works is obtained)
  • A blunt distaste for liberalism, progressivism, socialism and any ideology that stands opposed to free-market principles.
  • An open lack of trust or confidence in mainstream, corporate media

Last, but DEFINITELY not least, include FIVE sample stories. Your stories will need to include a full link of the story, along with the headline/title you would use to link to the story. (DO NOT COPY THE ACTUAL TITLE)

OFFICIAL LIBERTYNEWS.COM BLOGGERS

LibertyNews.com is now serving more than 7,500 pageviews per day and we’re quickly growing into a daily stop for thousands of conservative activists nationwide. We’re planning on expanding out into new categories and sections and we’re looking for bloggers interested in joining our news crew. The new category expansions and areas where bloggers are needed include:

  • Business & Finance
  • Purely Opinion
  • Campaign Trail – Elections
  • Social Media – Web World – Technology
  • Unions & Special Interests

As is the case with LibertyCube.com, all official bloggers go into a three month trial period before being considered for possible part time/contracted compensation. Candidates for a blogger position will need to meet the following:

  • Proven ability to write solid, easy-to-understand English (don’t let this scare you… just don’t be REALLY bad with grammar, please)
  • Basic understanding of WordPress content management software
  • Openly available social media profiles with at least 12 months of personal history available (sorry, we need allies, not enemies)
  • Ability to pledge to submit at least 3 posts per week, each with a minimum word count of 200 words
  • A blunt distaste for liberalism, progressivism, socialism and any ideology that stands opposed to free-market principles.
  • An open lack of trust or confidence in mainstream, corporate media
